Handcrafted at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, the Cabaiguan line is Pete Johnson and Jaime Garcia’s nod to classic elegance, with Nicaragua underneath to keep it honest. In the No. 52, that intent comes through immediately. It feels composed, refined, and quietly complex. The silky Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper brings a creamy texture and a gentle warmth, while the Nicaraguan binder and filler add structure and depth.

Expect cream and cedar up front, a measured line of light spice through the middle, and a soft toastiness as it settles in.

Cold draw: Sweet hay, light cedar, toasted almond, a touch of vanilla cream.

First third
Cream-led start. Cedar and light toast come in early with a gentle white-pepper prickle on the finish. The texture feels smooth and rounded rather than sharp.

Second third
The core turns more Nicaraguan: a little more earth, a faint mineral edge, and a steadier baking spice. Cream remains, but it’s now more like café con leche than plain cream.

Final third
Toast deepens into a slightly darker roasted note (bread crust, almond skin). Cedar stays constant. A soft molasses-like sweetness flickers in and out, keeping the finish balanced.
