The Gran Cojonu is Tatuaje in its boldest posture. A large-ring format built for a longer sit-down, with the kind of Cubanesque attitude Pete Johnson is known for, but delivered with My Father precision from Estelí.
This 6 1/2" x 60 vitola pairs an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and filler. Don’t let the Connecticut fool you. The wrapper brings a smoother texture and a creamier start, but the Nicaraguan core keeps the blend full in strength and unapologetic in presence.
Expect a warm, dense profile with cream and toasted wood up front, then deeper notes that lean into earth, spice and a more assertive, savoury richness as the cigar settles in. It’s the kind of smoke that rewards a steady pace and a proper setting, best enjoyed when you want weight, length, and a finish that lingers.

Appearance: Large-ring, commanding format. Ecuador Connecticut wrapper shows a pale-golden hue with a soft oil sheen and fine, tidy veins.
Cold aroma: Sweet hay, light cedar, toasted brioche, a touch of white pepper.

Cold draw: Cream, cereal grain, gentle cedar, faint nuttiness.
First third
Opens creamy and rounded, with cedar and light toast as the backbone. The smoke texture is thick, and the sweetness reads more like vanilla cream than sugar. Retrohale brings a controlled white pepper and dry wood.

Second third
The Nicaraguan core starts to show more clearly. Earth and a more savoury roasted character build underneath the cream, with a steady line of spice. The profile shifts from “soft” to “structured”, and the cigar feels more full in presence.

Final third
The finish becomes heavier and darker: toasted wood deepens, earth becomes more pronounced, and the spice turns warmer, edging toward baking spice and pepper. Any sweetness pulls back into a faint, creamy echo while the body and strength hold firm to the nub.
