Teniente Angela opens with almond and dry oak before cocoa and pepper spice, while Sampetrina leads with dark earth and black pepper before cocoa emerges mid-smoke.

Two cigars from Casa 1910's Soldadera Edition, each honouring a woman of the Mexican Revolution.

Teniente Angela Toro (6" x 52): Honours Angela Jimenez, who served as soldier, spy and flag bearer disguised as a man throughout her service. Medium to full, opening with almond and dry oak before cocoa, pepper spice and leather round out a warming finish. Around 70 minutes.

Sampetrina Robusto: Honours Petra Herrera, who led under the name Pedro Herrera. Full-bodied and assertive, with black pepper through the first third and cocoa emerging mid-smoke. Around 90 minutes, not for the faint-hearted.

Recommended order: Teniente Angela Toro first, then Sampetrina Robusto. The Teniente Angela's more composed profile makes a fitting opener before the Sampetrina's bolder, more assertive close.
