Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta Lancero (7" x 38): Light in body, smooth and aromatic from its dual-wrapper construction, developing creamy, lightly floral and toasted notes. The lancero format is demanding to roll and to smoke, so it rewards a calm setting and a slower pace.

Foundation Charter Oak Original Petit Corona (5¼" x 42): A dynamic, compact smoke. Spice and hot chocolate lead from the first draw, with woody undertones deepening steadily. Medium strength in a genuinely small format.

Plasencia Alma del Cielo Celeste Robusto (4⅞" x 52): A true Nicaraguan puro grown at altitude. Marzipan and honey open the smoke, nougat and orange zest lift the middle, and a precise ginger spice ties the finish together. Medium strength, the fullest and longest of the set.

Recommended order: Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta Lancero first while the palate is fresh, since its lighter, more delicate character is easiest to appreciate early. Foundation Charter Oak Original Petit Corona next for a dynamic, spiced step up. Finish with the Plasencia Alma del Cielo Celeste Robusto, the fullest and most complex of the three. That's the general light-to-medium logic, proposed rather than confirmed, since it's Lisardo's call as Habanos Sommelier.

Heritage: Joya de Nicaragua has been in continuous production since 1968, one of Nicaragua's founding cigar houses. Foundation Cigar Company was founded by master blender Nicholas Melillo. Plasencia has grown tobacco across Nicaragua and Honduras since 1865, with this puro's filler coming from the family's Finca San Julián estate.
